Sinkholes and Sewer on the Mend in Evansville

open-house

Evansville residents think it’s high time for repairs to be made to sinkholes in their neighborhood. The City has assured homeowners that along with sewer repairs, the sinkholes will be fixed, as well. For about a year, the community has been avoiding the mesh fence that surrounds the sunken area near a closed road. The new sewer line is expected to be fully repaired by fall of this year. The City has committed to making street repairs following the sewer pipeline enhancements. The community agrees that the sinkholes have been an eyesore and have not been in the best interest of the people that live in the area.
The City has confirmed that the sinkholes were caused by a defect in the sewer line. When dirt populated the pipeline, sinkholes began forming. Currently, a new lining is being positioned from manhole to manhole near Delaware and Boeke St. The City intends to reopen these roads when all repairs have been finalized.
